Rohit Sharma Record: While batting against Delhi in IPL 2026, Indian star batsman and former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has made a big record in his name. He achieved this feat leaving behind former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The eighth match of IPL 2026 is being played between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. Opening the match being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday (April 4), Rohit played an innings of 35 runs in 26 balls, which included 5 fours and 1 six.

During this inning itself, Rohit Sharma broke a big record. He left Mahendra Singh Dhoni behind as soon as he hit his 51st six against Delhi Capitals. Dhoni had 50 sixes in his name against Royal Challengers Bangalore, but now with 51 sixes, Rohit has become the Indian player in IPL to hit the most sixes against one team.

If we talk about hitting the most sixes against a team in the overall IPL, then former West Indies batsman Chris Gayle is at the top in this list. He has hit 61 sixes against Punjab Kings, while he has 54 sixes to his name against Kolkata Knight Riders. Now Rohit Sharma has reached third place in this list with 51 sixes. Apart from Dhoni, Virat Kohli’s name is also included in this special list.

Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians, batting first, could score only 162 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant inning of 51 runs for the team, while Rohit Sharma (35 runs) and Naman Dheer (28 runs) also made important contributions.

In reply, Sameer Rizvi played a match-winning inning of 90 runs in 51 balls for Delhi Capitals. Apart from this, Pathum Nissanka (44 runs) also played an important innings and the team achieved the target in just 18.1 overs.
