Iran counterattacks in response to US attacks, launching missile-drone attacks on US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain; Warning to stop diplomatic process

Moscow, June 28. Iran claimed on Saturday to launch a major military operation in response to recent US military attacks. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said its navy and aerospace force had launched missile and drone strikes targeting US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Also warned that if the ceasefire violations continue, the ongoing diplomatic process between the two countries may end completely.

Attack on American bases in Kuwait and Bahrain

According to the IRGC, a US airbase in Kuwait and a US naval base in Bahrain were targeted in retaliation. The organization claims that this action was taken in response to the attacks carried out by America on five coastal posts of Iran.

‘The situation will be like hell for American bases’

According to Iranian state media Press TV, the commander of the IRGC Navy said that US military bases located in the Middle East will face serious consequences in the coming days. He said the situation would become “hell-like” for US bases in the area. The commander also said the military action being taken in the Strait of Hormuz is aimed at responding to intruders, while the sea route will remain open as usual for other ships.

Warning to stop diplomatic process if ceasefire is broken

The IRGC alleged that the ceasefire violations are against the basic terms of the agreement between Iran and the US. The organization says that if this violation continues, all diplomatic processes going on to resolve the dispute may be completely stopped.

Alert in Kuwait and Bahrain

Kuwait’s military said its air defense system is active to intercept missiles and drone attacks. At the same time, in view of the possible danger in Bahrain, warning sirens were sounded and people were appealed to go to safe places. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry, in a statement posted on social media platform X, advised citizens and residents to remain calm, seek shelter in the nearest safe place and stay away from main roads unless absolutely necessary.
