Iran enraged by American air strike, in response missile and drone attacks on many countries
Dubai. The ongoing military tension between America and Iran has once again reached a dangerous point. In the early hours of Thursday, the US Army carried out air strikes on several areas of northern Iran. Along with this, action was also taken against a ship allegedly trying to break the naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran and Semnan became targets
According to Iranian media, the US strikes targeted areas around the capital Tehran and Semnan province. Semnan is considered the major center of Iran’s ballistic missile and space program. US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that Iranian defense installations and missile bases located on Greater Tumb Island were also targeted.
More than 35 deaths, more than 300 injured
According to Iranian officials, so far more than 35 people have died in the American attacks, while more than 300 people have been injured. This is the first time that areas around Tehran have been targeted in the recent conflict.
Iran’s counterattack, attack on Bahrain-Jordan-Kuwait
In response to the US attacks, Iran launched missile and drone attacks in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait. American military bases are present in these countries. However, there has been no official confirmation of any major damage or casualties yet. Here, there was also a drone attack on Iraq’s northern city of Erbil, which was shot down on the way by the security forces.
America’s action on the ship breaking the blockade
The US military claimed that the Curaçao-flagged oil tanker ‘Belma’ did not change direction despite warnings and continued towards Iran’s Kharg Island. After this, the American plane disabled it by firing a missile at the chimney of the ship.
Strait of Hormuz becomes center of tension
When the US and Israel launched a military campaign against Iran in February, Iran effectively blocked maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. This led to a sharp rise in the prices of crude oil and other essential commodities globally. Now America has once again imposed a naval blockade in the region, which has further increased the tension.
Iran’s warning – will stop oil and gas exports
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said Iran is prepared for a full-scale military confrontation if the US does not follow the terms of the interim agreement. At the same time, the Revolutionary Guard warned that if the blockade continued, oil and gas exports from across West Asia could be affected.
Trump said- Iran wants agreement
US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran is interested in a peace agreement. He said that Tehran has released an American citizen as a gesture of goodwill, although he did not give any detailed information in this regard. It is being told that the released woman is American-Iranian citizen Dena Karari, who was detained in Iran on spying charges. However, Iran has not officially confirmed his release.
Danger of war looms over entire West Asia
Continuously increasing attacks and counter-actions have made the situation in West Asia extremely tense. Experts believe that if military action between the two countries continues like this, the region may move towards a major war.
