Iran gave open warning to America – ‘In case of ground attack, we will set American soldiers on fire’
Washington, March 30. Iran has warned that if the US launches a ground attack, it will retaliate. The warning comes as President Donald Trump is considering a risky military campaign to seize Tehran’s uranium and regional powers are pushing for talks to prevent conflict. This is a time when the situation is showing signs of worsening. According to the New York Times, America’s 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit has already reached the Middle East. Additionally, the US military is preparing options for ground troops, which could last a few days or longer.
At the center of this entire matter is a plan in which approximately 1,000 pounds of uranium is being considered to be extracted from Iran. According to US officials, this work is extremely complex and dangerous. Officials told The Wall Street Journal, “Trump has not yet decided whether to order it. He is considering how to strike a balance between protecting American troops and preventing Iran from making nuclear weapons. If the operation is approved, it could involve special forces troops who would secure nuclear sites amid Iranian missile and drone attacks and remove radioactive material from the war zone. Experts say this will not be a short or quick-ending operation.
Along with this, the Pentagon is also preparing for a major ground operation, which could last for several weeks. In any such action, American soldiers may have to face many threats like drones, missiles and explosives. American officials are also considering sending additional troops. According to the report, the Pentagon is planning to deploy 10,000 more ground troops to the region, to make the operation more flexible.
Although military preparations are intensifying, diplomatic efforts are also continuing. Pakistan hosted talks with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt aimed at deescalating the conflict and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. But so far neither America nor Iran has participated in these talks. At present, there are no signs of any quick solution. Due to this war, oil prices have reached above $100 per barrel. Especially due to the fear of supply disruption through the Strait of Hormuz, concern has increased in the global market.
