Iran-Israel War: Iran targeted Bahrain’s largest oil refinery, thick smoke rose
Iran-Israel War: Amid the rapidly escalating war in West Asia, a major oil facility in Bahrain was reportedly attacked by an Iranian drone on Monday. Thick smoke billows from Bahrain’s Bapco oil refinery following a drone attack by the Iranian military. There were injuries and significant damage at the Sitra field, highlighting the important role of the refinery in Bahrain’s energy infrastructure. Following the attack on the refinery complex, the company announced Force Majeure on the operations of its group. Visuals showing thick plumes of smoke rising from the oil plant were widely circulated on social media platforms.

BAPCO is Bahrain’s main oil refinery and a key facility in the country’s energy sector.
“A fire broke out at a unit of the Bapco Energies Refinery following a missile attack by Iran,” Bahrain’s National Communications Center said in a statement. The statement further said that the fire was soon brought under control. According to reports, Bahrain’s Health Ministry announced that 32 civilians were injured in an Iranian drone strike targeting Sitra early on Monday.
