Let us tell you that US President Donald Trump said on Monday that the war against Iran could be short-lived, but he also warned that the fight could intensify if the Islamic Republic disrupts global oil supplies. Trump told Republican lawmakers at his golf club near Miami that we were in West Asia for some time with the intention of eliminating some evil forces and I hope all this will end soon. A few hours after this statement, Trump posted on social media that if Iran takes any step to stop the flow of oil in the Strait of Hormuz, then America will attack it twenty times more strongly than till now.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the experience of talks with America has been ‘bitter’ and now there is no possibility of fresh diplomatic talks with it. Araghchi repeatedly accused the US of betrayal and military aggression in an interview with PBS. He said that I do not think that the question of talking to Americans or talking to them will now be on the agenda. This experience has been very bitter for us. He claimed that Iran had started talks with the US in June last year with good intentions, but was attacked during the talks. According to Araghchi, this year also America had assured that it will not attack and wants a peaceful solution to Iran’s nuclear issue. The Foreign Minister said that despite progress in the three rounds of talks, the situation worsened instead of improving. He said that the American negotiating team had also accepted the progress, but despite this the attack was carried out.
Araghchi, while sending a message to the Persian Gulf countries, said that Iran’s attacks on US targets in the region were carried out under the right of self-defense. He said that if other countries can take steps to protect their facilities, then Iran also has the right to protect its people. He said that this war was not chosen by Iran but was imposed on it and the country is only protecting itself. Araghchi also said Iran was prepared to continue missile attacks as long as needed. Rejecting concerns over relations with regional countries, he said that the security of the Iranian people is the top priority.
