Government media’s allegation: America-Israel incited violence
Iranian state media broke its silence on Friday and claimed that behind these demonstrations were ‘terrorist agents’ of America and Israel, who promoted violence and arson. However, the media did not provide any detailed information on the number of casualties. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (86) clearly indicated in his address on state TV that strict action will be taken against the protesters.
Referring to US President Donald Trump, he said that the protesters were “destroying their own streets to please the president of another country.” Khamenei said that ‘rulers who arrogantly pass judgment on the whole world should know that rulers like Pharaoh, Namrud and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi met their end at the peak of power. He will also fall.”
Allegations of foreign interference, questions on protesters
Khamenei accused some protesters of using violence to please Washington rather than out of genuine grievances. He said that “some people are on the streets just to cause vandalism. In Tehran and other cities they damaged buildings of their own country.” Taking a dig at America, he said that if Trump has the guts then he should first handle his own country, where many incidents are happening.
