Iran rejected the claims of Trump and JD Vance, said this big thing about nuclear inspectors
New Delhi: After the recent talks between America and Iran in Switzerland, a new dispute regarding nuclear inspection has come to light. Let us tell you, US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance claimed that Iran has agreed to give more extensive access to international inspectors to monitor its nuclear program. However, Tehran has rejected these claims outright.
Everything will be done as per the Safeguards Agreement
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bakai clarified that the country’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will continue within the framework of already applicable agreements and national laws. During this, while talking to Iranian government news agency IRNA, he said that all activities with IAEA will be conducted according to the existing Safeguards Agreement.
What to say about the claims made by America
Bakai said that Iran will continue to comply with its international responsibilities, but any cooperation will be in accordance with the laws made by the country’s Parliament and the guidelines of the Supreme National Security Council. According to him, the claims made by America do not reflect the real situation.
US-Iran talks
This statement has come at a time when different signals are being received from both the countries regarding the US-Iran talks held in Switzerland. Along with this, after the talks, US Vice President JD Vance had said that the talks were positive and this has laid the foundation for a possible agreement. He also claimed that Iran is ready to strengthen the inspection system and allow international nuclear inspectors entry into the country.
Trump shared the post
President Donald Trump also posted on the social media platform Truth Social saying that Iran will accept comprehensive weapons inspections to ensure transparency in its nuclear program. According to Trump, this will increase confidence in Iran’s nuclear activities in the future. However, it is clear from Iran’s latest response that it is not confirming any new inspection mechanism or additional commitment and is currently talking about continuing cooperation under the old agreements.
