Iran rejected the conditions of ceasefire, said – neither Hormuz will open, nor will there be a 45-day ceasefire

New Delhi. A draft proposal received by Iran and America calls for a 45-day ceasefire and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, so that a way can be found to end the war. This information has been given by two officials of West Asia. Officials said that this proposal has been prepared by the mediators of Egypt, Pakistan and Turkey, who are trying to stop the conflict. They believe that this period of 45 days will provide enough time for comprehensive talks between the two countries, so that a permanent ceasefire can be agreed upon.

Officials said that this proposal was sent to Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Envoy to West Asia Steve Witkoff late Sunday night, but America has not responded to it. According to the Reuters report, Iran has refused to open Hormuz and also for a temporary ceasefire of 45 days. A senior Iranian official told the new agency Reuters that Iran feels that America does not want a permanent ceasefire.

Know what are the terms of the ceasefire?

In the first phase, it is proposed to implement a ceasefire of about 45 days, during which a permanent peace agreement will be negotiated. If more time is needed for talks, this ceasefire can also be extended. In the second phase, a final agreement will be reached to end the war completely. Sources say full opening of the Strait of Hormuz and resolution of Iran’s high-level enriched uranium – such as sending it out of the country or reducing its quantity – will be possible only after a final agreement. The terms of this proposal were first reported by news website Axios. Iran says it will continue fighting until it receives financial compensation and assurances that there will be no repeat attacks in the future.

Compromise is not that easy

No agreement has been reached so far in the war between Iran and America. The biggest reason for this is that neither party is ready to back down from its conditions. Till the 24th day of the war, Trump was in a mood for compromise, but once again he has become quite aggressive. US President Donald Trump has threatened to bomb Iran’s bridges and power plants this week. Iran is also continuously saying that it is waiting for America’s ground operation.
