Iran-US Tension: Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz, America attacked 80 targets
The conflict between Iran and America has now reached a dangerous point. Iran has clearly said that if there is any new attack on it, it will close the Strait of Hormuz, which is very important for the world. At the same time, America has destroyed many military bases of Iran, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear in the entire Gulf region.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has held America responsible for this tension. The ministry says the US attack in Sirik, southern Iran, is a violation of UN rules. Iran’s military body Khatam al-Anbiya has also said that they will give a strong response to the US attacks. Iran has also warned that any country which gives its land to America to attack Iran, Iran will consider it as an aggressor and not its ally.
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has announced that the agreement to end the war with Iran has now ended. He has called talks with Iranian leaders a waste of time. US Central Command (CENTCOM) attacked more than 80 locations in Iran between 7 and 8 July 2026. These included air defense systems, radar sites and more than 60 boats of the Revolutionary Guard. America has also canceled the license to sell Iranian oil.
The impact of this war is also visible on the surrounding countries. On July 7, a Qatari LNG tanker “Al Rakiyat” was attacked near Hormuz, causing a fire. Kuwait intercepted 2 missiles and 13 drones in the air within its territory. There was so much fear in Bahrain that air raid sirens were sounded there three times.
The Joint Maritime Information Center has now declared the threat level in the Strait of Hormuz as “severe”. Countries like Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Oman have strongly condemned the attacks on merchant ships and said that sea routes should remain safe for all.
