Iran US Peace Talks Pakistan Role: Pakistan’s activism has come to the fore as part of new diplomatic efforts to reduce tension between Iran and America. After the failed first round of talks in Islamabad, Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir has been meeting Iranian officials in Tehran for two days and is preparing to go to Washington soon. This initiative is being taken amid efforts for regional stability in 2026, in which emphasis is being placed on resuming talks between Iran and the US. Its purpose is said to be to take the negotiation process forward again.
Meeting in Tehran, preparation for Washington visit
Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir is in Tehran for the last two days, where he met Iran’s Foreign Minister and other senior officials. The purpose of these meetings is said to be to prepare the ground for talks again between Iran and America.
According to sources, Munir can go directly to America from Tehran. This step is being taken at a time when the previous round of talks between the two countries could not reach any concrete result.
New attempt after first round failure
The first meeting held in Islamabad lasted for about 21 hours, but did not yield any concrete results. Despite this, Pakistan has continued its efforts for mediation. Experts believe that this step is not just diplomacy but also an attempt to create strategic balance.
Pakistan has also been accused of trying to strengthen its economic and diplomatic position through mediation in international negotiations.
Economic hopes also attached with diplomacy
According to reports, Pakistan has also received some economic cooperation after recent dialogue efforts. After receiving billions of dollars of help from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, it is now eyeing further cooperation.
Experts believe that for this reason Pakistan is playing an active role in regional talks, so that it can further strengthen its position at the international level.
