Ruturaj Gaikwad has been appointed as the captain of the Rest of India squad. Gaikwad recently led India C in the Duleep Trophy 2024where his team reached the finals. His leadership qualities and recent form have made him an ideal candidate for this role. Joining him will be Abhimanyu Easwaranwho has been named vice-captain, along with key players from the domestic circuit.

Comeback for the Irani Cup

Ishan Kishanwho scored a century in his recent Duleep Trophy outing, continues his comeback to red-ball cricket with his selection in the RoI squad. Kishan is one of two wicketkeepers in the squad, alongside Dhruv Jurelwho may also be involved in India’s second Test against Bangladesh. Kishan’s inclusion is significant as he works his way back into national contention after losing his central contract earlier this year.
