Araghchi admitted that he was in Ali Khamenei’s office during the attack on the office and said he was trapped in the same building, the Foreign Minister also admitted that he remained there till two days after the attack, fearing for Khamenei’s safety. It has also been confirmed by Araghchi that entire power in Iran now resides with Khamenei’s son Mojtaba Khamenei.
Khamenei refuses to leave The Foreign Minister also admitted that he warned Khamenei about his safety during the attacks. Araghchi said that Khamenei refused to go to any safe house. The deceased supreme leader’s famous last words according to his Foreign Minister was “I will not go to any shelter or safe place until every member of the Iranian public also has access to a safe place. Whatever happens to my people will happen to me.”
The Foreign Minister then went on to say that he tried to remind Khamenei of Iran’s warnings to Gulf states that the use of American military bases against Iran would trigger a response from Iran, while pointing fingers at the security apparatus of America for their perceived failure “If the Americans do not have these bases neighboring Iran, would they have faced a counterattack?”.
The opponents of Netanyahu were shocked The Foreign Minister said that regional leaders opposed this form of warfare. “But Washington went ahead with it,” he told the Iranian journalist and added, “Both Trump and Netanyahu would have been completely surprised.” He claimed that the response from Tehran had stunned them. “Despite the magnitude of the strike, nobody expected Iran to respond immediately,” he said.
Mojtaba Khamenei has full authority Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said during the interview on Friday that the new supreme leader, Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, had full command in Iran and stated that he is a strong and dominant figure and that the supreme leadership of Iran completely rests in his hands. Araghchi said that, communication is constant and directives are being followed to the word. He went on to claim that the current reverence and devotion directed towards the new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei is in no way less than that towards the late leader and added “The level of respect and obedience given to the martyred leader is now completely transferred to the new supreme leader of the Islamic revolution, Mojtaba Khamenei.”
