Iranian media confirmed the killing of IRGC intelligence chief, US-Iran ceasefire talks in final stage

The head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) intelligence organization, Major General Seyed Majid Khademi, was killed in an alleged US-Israeli strike, according to Fars News Agency. According to the official announcement of the IRGC, Khademi died in a terrorist attack carried out by the American-Israeli enemy. No further detailed information about the incident has been revealed at present.

Iran ceasefire efforts intensified

Diplomatic efforts have intensified regarding a possible 45-day ceasefire amid the ongoing tension between Iran and America. According to the report of Axios news outlet, serious talks are going on between the US, Iran and regional mediator countries on this proposal, which is being considered an important step towards ending the war. According to sources, these talks are taking place under the mediation of Pakistan, Egypt and Türkiye. Besides, communication is also continuing between senior officials of both sides through direct messages.

A series of air strikes by Israel and the United States on Monday killed more than 25 people in Iran. In response, Tehran fired missiles at Israel and its Gulf region allies. Meanwhile, the deadline given by US President Donald Trump to Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz is nearing.

The sounds of explosions echoed throughout the night in Tehran and the sound of low-flying fighter planes could be heard over the capital for hours. In one of the attacks, a massive explosion occurred near the Sharif University of Technology campus, after which a plume of black smoke was seen rising around Azadi Chowk. According to Israeli officials, the bodies of two people have been recovered from the debris of a residential building in Haifa, while the search for two others continues. Meanwhile, new missile attacks were also carried out by Iran on Northern Israel in the early hours of Monday.
