According to local media reports, Tehran has raised many important demands ranging from stopping the war to recognition of its authority over Hormuz. However, a source who spoke to Iran’s state-backed news agency Tasnim described Trump’s reaction as insignificant. “Nobody in Iran makes plans to please Trump,” the source said. She also said that the US President’s reaction “doesn’t matter.”
Due to the continuous incidents, the ceasefire between the two countries is still considered very fragile. In such a situation, it is not clear how effective this new round of peace proposals will prove to be in reopening the Strait of Hormuz and bringing stability in the region.
