Iran’s big counterattack: rapid attacks on American military bases, five countries closed airspace

Tehran. After the joint attacks by America and Israel, Iran has now started taking strong retaliatory action. Iranian attacks on US military bases in Israel as well as in the Gulf countries have intensified.

Iran has targeted US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, raising tensions across the region.

Attack on American base in Doha-
US military bases in Doha were targeted. Qatar’s Defense Ministry claimed that security forces foiled several missile attacks in time. According to the ministry, the security plan was activated as soon as the threat was detected and the missiles were shot down before they entered Qatar’s territory.

Echo of attacks from Bahrain to UAE-
Bahrain has confirmed that the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet was targeted by a missile.

News of a massive explosion has come from Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Qatar, Kuwait and UAE have closed their airspace as a precautionary measure. Earlier, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) had confirmed that it had fired missiles and drones towards Israel in response to the US-Israeli attacks.

Impact on international flights-
Amid growing tension, many international airlines have suspended their flights—

Wizz Air canceled all flights to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman until March 7.

Lufthansa suspended weekend flights to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Beirut and Muscat.

KLM canceled flights from Amsterdam to Tel Aviv.

Oman Air suspends all flights to Baghdad.

Apart from this, Russia has stopped its flights to Iran and Israel. Kuwait has also closed air services to Iran until further notice, while Iraq has completely closed its airspace.

The rapidly changing situation in the Middle East has raised concerns globally. It is clear from the impact on military activities and air services that the situation remains extremely sensitive and explosive.
