Iraq: 3 soldiers killed, 2 seriously injured in deadly explosion in northern Iraq
Iraq : Three members of the Kurdistan Regional Government's Peshmerga army, including two colonels, were killed in a roadside bomb explosion in Salahuddin province, north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. According to reports, the bomb was planted by the Islamic State (IS) group near Tuz Khurmatu town in eastern Salahuddin.

The bomb exploded when a joint patrol of Iraqi Army and Peshmerga passed by it. Three Iraqi soldiers were also injured in the blast. The security situation in Iraq has improved since the defeat of IS in 2017. However, remnants of IS militants have infiltrated into urban centres, deserts and rugged areas and continue carrying out guerrilla attacks against security forces and civilians.
