IRCTC earned ₹308 crore in three months, made new announcement in the interest of shareholders
New Delhi : IRCTC, the online ticket booking service provider of Indian Railways, has announced its financial results for the second quarter (July-September) of FY 2025. In which net profit has increased by 4.47% on annual basis to Rs 308 crore. The company's profit in the same period last year was Rs 295 crore, slightly more than the profit of Rs 370 crore, which is a marginal increase compared to the previous quarter (April-June).
Online ticketing services are also available
IRCTC provides catering, tourism and online ticketing services to Indian Railways. The company books an average of 12.38 lakh tickets daily through its website and mobile app and also provides flight and bus booking facilities to its customers. Apart from this, the company also operates two Tejas trains of Indian Railways. The company's revenue in the second quarter also increased by 7.25% year-on-year to Rs 1,064 crore, from Rs 992 crore in the same quarter last year. However, revenue fell 4.8% in the second quarter compared to the first quarter (Q1 FY25).

Increase in IRCTC stock
IRCTC shares are also under pressure in the market. Before the results were announced, IRCTC shares fell 2% to close at Rs 815. The company's stock is down 10% this year, but has posted a negative return of 20% over the past six months. However, IRCTC stock is up 20% in the last year. The company's profit in the latest quarter increased 32.75% year-on-year to Rs 380 crore in Q1FY24-25. IRCTC's revenue during this period increased by 11.88% year-on-year to Rs 1,120 crore.
