As per the information received, regarding the irregularities found in Train No. 21896 (Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express) on 15 March 2026, the complaint made by a passenger regarding the quality of food has been taken very seriously. Taking immediate action on the matter, a fine of Rs 10 lakh has been imposed on IRCTC. Further, orders have been issued imposing a penalty of Rs 50 lakh on the concerned service provider and canceling their contract. As a result, a total penalty of Rs.60 lakh has been imposed.
