A very wonderful and big good news is coming for crores of railway passengers of the country traveling by train. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is going to launch its completely new and state-of-the-art upgraded website on 15th July 2026.

The Ministry of Railways says that the main objective of this historic digital transformation is to make the process of online rail ticket booking many times faster, safer, easier and more reliable than before. The most important thing is that in this new website, an attempt has been made to root out all those technical shortcomings and problems, about which common railway passengers have been complaining for a long time.

Now there will be no problem of ‘server down’ during peak hours and Tatkal booking.

While booking tickets on the existing IRCTC website or app, users often face problems like lagging, ‘server down’ errors and recurring complex captchas.

This problem becomes more serious when Tatkal Ticket Booking starts at 10 and 11 in the morning. During peak hours when lakhs of people across the country login to IRCTC servers simultaneously, the website crashes due to heavy traffic and common passengers lose their Tatkal tickets.

Response capacity will be many times stronger: According to the technical wing of Railways, in the new website, the response capacity of the system is being increased manifold through state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure. Its advantage will be that even if crores of rupees of traffic comes in a single second, the IRCTC website will work smoothly without crashing and the ticket booking experience of the passengers will become very smooth.
