Brokers were booking tickets illegally through these accounts, due to which common passengers were finding it difficult to get confirmed tickets. After this decision of the government, now online ticket booking has become safer and easier than before.
Action on 3 crore fake accounts
According to reports, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, Railways has made many important changes. The biggest step among these is blocking 3 crore fake accounts. This has had a big impact on the network of brokers and now the chances of genuine passengers getting tickets have increased. Not only the accounts, but also such brokers who were booking tickets wrongly have been removed from the platform.
Big change in Tatkal ticket booking
Railways has also made important changes in the rules of Tatkal tickets, due to which now booking tickets will be easier.
- Now OTP based verification will be necessary for Tatkal tickets.
- Without verified users will not be able to book tickets
- Booking window for third party platforms will open after 30 minutes
- Apart from this, IRCTC has also upgraded the server system so that problems like server crash do not occur at the time of booking.

RailOne app and new features
Railways has launched a new RailOne unified app, through which passengers can easily book tickets online. Now there will be no need to fill TDR on cancellation of e-ticket. This process has been completely automated and the refund will be given automatically as soon as the ticket is cancelled.
Know the new rules for ticket cancellation
IRCTC has also updated the ticket cancellation rules:
- You will get more refund if you cancel 72 hours in advance
- If canceled between 72 to 24 hours, 25% charge will be deducted.
- 50% refund will be given if canceled between 24 to 8 hours
- No refund will be given if canceled after 8 hours or after chart preparation
- Additionally, passengers can now change their boarding station up to 30 minutes before train departure.

Big relief regarding physical tickets also
Now paper tickets can be canceled from any reservation centre. Earlier this facility was available only at the center from where the ticket was booked.
