Railways Ticket Booking New Rule: Railways has implemented new rules for ticket booking on IRCTC from today, January 12, 2026. This will greatly benefit the passengers booking railway tickets online. From today, Aadhaar-authenticated IRCTC users will now be able to book advance reservation period (ARP) general reserve tickets. Although earlier also this facility was provided but there was limited time for it, but now its time has been extended till 12 midnight. According to IRCTC, only Aadhaar-authenticated users will be able to book general reserve tickets on the opening day of ARP.

IRCTC website and mobile app users should pay attention

Let us tell you, Railways said that this rule will be applicable only on online ticket booking through IRCTC website and mobile app. There will be no change in the process of booking tickets through computerized PRS counters. That means IRCTC website and mobile app users need to pay attention.

You can book tickets till 12 midnight

Let us tell you, earlier i.e. till January 11, 2026, Aadhaar-authenticated users could book tickets online only from 8 am to 12 noon. Aadhaar verification was made mandatory for only 15 minutes. But now from January 12, this facility will be available till 12 midnight.
