By the eighth over, Ireland’s score was 64 runs for 4 wickets and the team was looking in trouble. But after this Tucker took charge. He played an unbeaten inning of 94 runs in just 51 balls, which included 10 fours and 4 sixes. Along with Gareth Delany, he made an important partnership of 101 runs for the fifth wicket. Delaney also contributed 56 runs. In the end, George Dockrell scored unbeaten 35 runs in just 9 balls, which included 5 sixes. Thanks to his explosive innings, Ireland scored a huge score of 235 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Oman’s innings faltered
Chasing the target of 236 runs, Oman tried to get off to a fast start. Opener Aamir Kaleem scored 50 runs in 29 balls, while Hammad Mirza scored 46 runs in 37 balls. However, wickets kept falling at regular intervals and the team came under pressure. By the 13th over, Oman’s score was 108 runs for 5 wickets, due to which the match almost got out of hand.
For Ireland, Josh Little took 3 wickets (3/16), while Matthew Humphreys took 2 wickets (2/27). Oman was all out for 139 runs in 18 overs and Ireland won by 96 runs. With this victory, Ireland has strengthened its claim in the tournament.
