Irfan Pathan gave an important statement regarding team management on the return of Mohammed Shami.
New Delhi: The question of Mohammed Shami's return to international cricket has raised a question in the minds of Indian cricket fans. Recently, Mohammed Shami was selected for the T20 series against England, after which it was expected that he might return in the T20 match to be held in Kolkata. However, this did not happen. Now former Indian team all-rounder Irfan Pathan has given his opinion on this. He believes that the Indian selectors do not want to take any risk regarding the return of Mohammed Shami and hence are not being hasty.
Have a complete idea of your body's capabilities and condition
Irfan Pathan said that if a player is very good in experience and is included in the top 10 bowlers of India, then he has a complete idea of the ability and condition of his body. Mohammed Shami remains absolutely honest in this matter and gives correct information about his situation to the team management. Irfan also said that the team management will take the right decision on time and there will be no haste of any kind.
Indian team does not have enough backup for this tournament
Apart from this, Irfan Pathan also gave his opinion on the Indian fast bowling attack and the Champions Trophy. He believed that the Indian team did not have enough backup for this tournament, especially in fast bowling. He also said that Mohammed Siraj should have been in the Champions Trophy squad, as questions were being raised about Jasprit Bumrah's fitness, and Siraj could have been an excellent backup. The Champions Trophy is starting from 19th February, in which India's first match will be against Bangladesh on 20th February. After India, there will also be matches with Pakistan and New Zealand.
