The entire opposition has attacked this appeal of PM Narendra Modi. Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi himself, taking the lead, has targeted the Modi government. Rahul Gandhi has called it a failure of the government. At the same time, after this appeal of Prime Minister Modi, political pundits are speculating whether this is an undeclared lockdown or a sign of recession in the country?

Let us tell you that if we look at the record of Prime Minister Modi till now, it becomes clear that whenever he makes any appeal, there are many secrets hidden in it. There is some secret hidden in each of his words. Iran war has been going on for the last 2 months. Till now, Prime Minister Modi and all the ministers of the government have been claiming that there is sufficient reserve of oil and gas in the country. Then what happened suddenly that Prime Minister Modi had to appeal to save oil and gas and not buy gold? The appeal that PM Modi has made to the people of the country. So let us try to know here what is the meaning behind this big appeal of Prime Minister Modi?

First appeal: Use less petrol and diesel, adopt Metro-EV

Read :- Narendra Modi once again shirked his responsibility, now the country and the public will have to bear the brunt of this negligence: Congress

Prime Minister Modi has made his first appeal to the people of the country to use less petrol and diesel and adopt Metro-EV. The reason for this is that India imports 85 percent of its oil from outside. At the same time, the price of crude oil has crossed 120 dollars. Iran has refused to accept America’s conditions. While US President Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s new peace proposal. In such a situation, there is a fear of Gulf War breaking out once again. If the Gulf war flares up again, the price of crude oil may cross $150. If India continues to import oil and gas at such expensive prices, India’s foreign exchange will be burdened. This will affect the country’s economic progress and people’s lives.

Second appeal: Do not buy gold for 1 year

Prime Minister Modi’s second appeal to the people of the country is not to buy gold for a year. Let us tell you that India is the second largest gold purchasing country in the world. Every year we buy gold worth about 59 billion dollars i.e. about five lakh crore rupees from other countries. Only in the six months from April to September 2025, gold worth $26.51 billion had arrived. In October 2025, during the Diwali and wedding season, gold import jumped by 200 percent. This took the trade deficit to a record $41.68 billion. According to SBI Research, there is a direct relationship between the price of gold and the weakness of the rupee. When gold becomes expensive, the rupee falls further. Also, foreign exchange will reduce by buying expensive gold. Due to this the country may fall into recession.

Third appeal: Reduce fertilizer in fields by 50 percent, install solar pumps

PM Narendra Modi has made a third appeal to the farmers of the country. Prime Minister Modi appealed to the farmers to reduce chemical fertilizers by 50 percent and adopt natural farming. Install solar pump instead of diesel pump. The appeal to install solar pumps instead of diesel pumps is due to the rising price and shortage of oil. Whereas India imports 25 percent of its requirement of urea, 90 percent of phosphate and 100 percent of potash from abroad. In 2023-24, the burden of fertilizer subsidy alone had reached Rs 1.75 lakh crore. To make urea, natural gas is required which is itself imported. Due to West Asia crisis, gas became expensive and fertilizer became expensive. Reducing fertilizer will break this entire chain. This will have a direct impact on the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Fourth appeal: postpone foreign travel for 1 year

The PM appealed to citizens to help preserve foreign exchange reserves by avoiding non-essential foreign travel, holidays abroad and foreign weddings and by limiting domestic tourism and celebrations within India. Because the rupee fell from 85 to 93, it is necessary to save dollars.

Fifth Appeal: Do work from home

PM Modi has emphasized on working from home in the fifth appeal. There is a simple calculation behind this. Lakhs of liters of petrol and diesel are burnt every day while commuting to office. If corporate companies implement work from home even for a few days a week, then both fuel consumption and import burden can be reduced.
