Is BTS’ V getting undue favour in the South Korean military? Defence Ministry issues statement
BTS’ V who is presently completing his required time in the military, has been accused of devouring partiality. The claims gained momentum after Min Hee Jin said in a recent interview that V had gotten in touch with her and even sent her birthday greetings. The South Korean Ministry of National Defense, however, addressed the claims of partiality.
Defence Ministry’s statement
The Defense Ministry questioned if V’s status as a K-pop star had granted him preferential treatment at the Army training center, including an unapproved phone, in response to a public complaint on November 20. The Ministry claims that the Love Me Again singer used his personal phone during a certain period of time that was allowed by the training facility’s basic rules.
Recruits are permitted to use their phones at the Army training center for an hour on weekends and public holidays. V reportedly used his phone in the afternoon instead of the early hours of the morning.
The statement by AllKpop added, “There is no evidence to suggest that V was granted special permission to use his phone outside the designated time or that any such action was condoned. Details about the specific timing, method, or content of conversations cannot be disclosed due to the Personal Information Protection Act and the Protection of Communications Secrets Act”.
Min Hee Jin’s conversation became the bone of contention
In the interview, the former CEO of ADOR revealed that when V joined the military, he kept in touch with her. She also revealed that V sent her a birthday greeting, which caused a stir when internet users pointed out that V’s enlistment date was December 11 and Min’s birthday is December 16.
