One of the most anticipated adult-oriented OTT animated series, Common Side Effects features a comedic, dark, and biting take on the Pharmaceutical Industry’s impact on people through the dramatic story of an epic search for a magical healing mushroom. Much of the excitement for Season 2 centers around the show’s signature deadpan sense of humor, with its well-developed characters and exciting twists on the storytelling providing viewers with an awesome knowledge base for future seasons after the success of Season 1 in early 2025.
Common Side Effects Season 2 will not premiere in March 2026. The series is an animated series, based on an Adult Swim series co-created by Joe Bennett and Steve Hely, with Mike Judge and Greg Daniels serving as the show’s executive producers; season one is set to premiere in February 2025 and was renewed for Season Two on March 28, 2025, one day before the first season finale aired its live phase.
Production for Season 2 started around May 2025 and is continue to work on, however, various sources have confirmed the anticipated release of Season Two will not likely occur before late 2026 and likely in the fall of that year (September-December) possibly even sooner; but there is currently no officially scheduled date for its premiere nor indication of the show starting a March 2026 date.
An early estimate provided information indicating it takes approximately 14+-months to transition from renewal or production commencement to actual November ’23; this estimate is in direct support of anticipated fall ’24.
An update has numerous animation production milestones, including cutting and colourization schedules, to make them available early ’23, but this timeline correlates with the broadcast date being much later in that timeframe, so again suggests a projected fall ’24 date.
Again, there are no announcements on any month that lead up to March 2026; therefore, if you are anxiously awaiting a release of Season 2, continue to check in with Adult Swim and MAX for future releases of information, as Season 2 of Common Side Effects will happen, but just not anytime soon!
