Recently, Mohanlal made his big-screen comeback in the film Barroz, which was directed by the actor and released on Christmas Day. The actor revealed details about the eagerly anticipated Drishyam 3 sequel in an interview on Pinkvilla post the release of the new film.
The actor shared in excitement, “People are asking why aren’t we doing Drishyam 3. The thing is, it is not an easy thing. It is a great responsibility. It is more than just bringing out a film.”
“See, normally it is a big challenge to bring out a sequel is a big challenge. People would always compare the movie with the first movie. Now, people are saying the second movie was looking so good, and when are you coming out with three but it doesn’t happen like that,” the superstar claimed.
When Mohanlal eventually wrapped up his response, he stated that the entire team is now attempting to produce a third movie. The actor even joked that anyone may contribute a tale or ideas for the follow-up.
Meanwhile, his new film Barroz, features a devoted lieutenant of the Da Gama kings, and is set against the backdrop of Portuguese aristocracy. He was tasked by his boss to protect a great deal of wealth and only distribute it to a Da Gama descendant.
Barroz keeps his pledge and protects the riches for 400 years, turning into a spirit guardian that awaits the descendant of Vasco da Gama. It stars Maya Rao West, Cesar Lawrence Mouse, Ignacio Mateos, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Nerea Camacho, Tuhin Menon, and others
Next up for Mohanlal is the lead part in Thudarum, in which he will reunite with renowned actress Shobana. According to media reports, the actor plays a cab driver in the Tharun Moorthy-directed movie.
The actor also has L2: Empuraan, Ram, the untitled MMMN, and Aavesham, which is directed by Jithu Madhavan in the lineup.
