Is feeding more milk a benefit or a disadvantage? Know the right quantity and right time for good health of children.

News India Live, Digital Desk: In our India, children are considered to mean ‘milk’. As soon as the child grows up a little, he starts running behind the parents with a glass. We have been taught since childhood that the more milk you drink, the sooner you will become tall and strong. But should there really be no limit on milk? Nowadays, parents are very confused about how much milk is right to give to their child in a day. The truth is that milk is definitely nutritious, but instead of being beneficial, it can also cause harm. Let us today understand in simple language what mathematics actually is. How much milk is enough in a day? According to nutritionists, the needs of children of every age are different. Children of 1 to 2 years: They need about 2 to 3 small cups (about 400-500 ml) of milk in a day. Giving too much milk at this age causes the child to reduce his food intake. Children of 2 to 8 years: 2 glasses (about 500 ml) is enough for them too. Children above 9 years: They can be given a little more i.e. 2.5 to 3 glasses of milk because they are growing rapidly. What is the ‘right time’ to feed milk? This is a question which remains a matter of debate in every household. Some say give milk in the morning to get energy, while others say give it at night. Morning time: If your child is active and can digest milk in the morning, then it is good to give milk with breakfast. But keep in mind, do not send to school just by drinking milk, also give solid breakfast along with it. Night Time (Best Choice): According to science, it is best to drink lukewarm milk before sleeping at night. This helps in better sleep and the body is able to absorb calcium better at night. Just remember that there should not be too much sugar in the milk. What problem can there be in feeding too much milk? It has often been seen that children who keep drinking milk throughout the day start complaining of anemia (anemia). The reason for this is that milk fills the stomach, but it does not contain iron. Due to full stomach, the child does not eat pulses and vegetables, due to which the body does not get iron. Apart from this, excess milk can also cause constipation. A little advice for parents: Consider milk as a part of the child’s diet, not the entire diet. If your child is very picky about drinking milk, then you can give him calcium through alternatives like curd, paneer or cheese. Force-feeding can create irritability in the child’s mind towards food.
