In a post on social media, he mentioned that spreading such rumors is irresponsible and instills unnecessary fear in the public. The government is diligently monitoring the situation and is fully equipped to handle any developments.
The government has made it clear that despite the ongoing global circumstances, there is no shortage of fuel or essential goods in the country. According to the ministry, India has ample oil and gas reserves, and supplies for the next 60 days have already been secured. Additionally, India now imports crude oil from over 41 countries, significantly reducing the impact of any disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
Oil companies have also increased their readiness. Petrol pump owners are now receiving more credit than before to ensure that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel under any circumstances. The government asserts that India is also a petroleum product exporter, so there is no need for a “national energy emergency” at this moment.

No, the central government has clearly indicated that there is no plan to implement a nationwide lockdown. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has dismissed this as a rumor and has encouraged people to disregard such news.
Will the Iran-Israel war affect India?
Global supply is certainly being affected, particularly in relation to oil and gas, but India has already made alternative arrangements. Imports from several countries have been increased, so this will not significantly impact domestic supply. According to the government, there is no such situation. Sufficient stocks are available, and supplies for the next 60 days have already been secured. Oil companies have also been instructed to maintain a strong supply chain.
The global situation remains in flux, and we are closely monitoring developments across energy, supply chains, and essential commodities on a real-time basis.
Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji, all necessary steps are being taken to ensure uninterrupted…
