According to many media reports and leaks, the company may be preparing to limit or close its business in some big markets of the world. This news has come at a time when Robin Liu has recently resigned from the post of CEO of OnePlus India, which has given more fuel to these speculations.

OnePlus may be discontinued in some countries
It is being told that the company may close or reduce its operations in markets like Europe, UK and America. However, the company’s focus will remain on China and India. Especially in India, OnePlus can now adopt a strategy of focusing more on budget and mid-range smartphones. Tipster Yogesh Brar had claimed on social media platform X that this shutdown could start from April 2026. However, his post was later removed. According to reports, the company has already informed some employees about this and some have also been given compensation package.
OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu resigns
Meanwhile, the resignation of OnePlus India CEO Robin Liu is also in the news. According to the company, he is stepping down to focus on his personal goals. His tenure is said to be till March 31 and he has already returned to China. However, the company has made it clear that its business in India will continue as normal and work will continue as per the local strategy.

OnePlus seems optimistic about its expansion in India
Talking about the product lineup, OnePlus recently launched OnePlus 15, OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2. But now there are reports that the company may cancel the launch plans of some of its upcoming devices like OnePlus Open 2 and OnePlus 15s. The company’s troubles do not end here. OnePlus’ market share has declined due to increasing competition and supply-related challenges. According to reports, there has been a huge decline in the company’s shipments in 2025.
Despite all this, OnePlus seems optimistic about its expansion in India. The company is soon going to launch OnePlus Nord 6, which will be an attempt to strengthen its hold in the mid-range segment. Overall, amid uncertainty at the global level, OnePlus is now eyeing a big market like India, where there is still huge potential for it in the mid-range smartphone segment.
