Is Stock Market Open on Good Friday April 3 2026? BSE NSE
With Good Friday falling on April 3 this year, many investors and traders are asking the same question — will the stock market be open tomorrow? The answer is no. Both BSE and NSE will remain closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, on account of Good Friday, which is a scheduled stock market holiday as notified by the exchanges.
This makes tomorrow the second market holiday in the same week, following Mahavir Jayanti on Tuesday, March 31. Trading will resume normally on Monday, April 6.
Markets closed on a positive note today, April 2, though the session was far from straightforward. Indices recovered sharply from their intraday lows to end higher, with the Sensex closing at 73,319.55, up 185.23 points (+0.25%), and the Nifty 50 settling at 22,713.10, gaining 33.70 points (+0.15%). Nifty Bank closed at 51,548.75, up 100.10 points (+0.19%). The Nifty Midcap 100 was the lone laggard among key indices, ending marginally lower at 53,677.05, down 0.26%. Market breadth on the NSE remained positive with 1,881 stocks advancing against 1,098 declines.
The two-day break — Tuesday and Friday — has compressed this week’s trading to just three sessions, with settlement cycles and F&O positions having to be planned around the back-to-back closures. Traders should note that any positions carried over today will not see settlement activity on Friday and should plan their liquidity accordingly.
The next trading session opens on Monday, April 6.
