Before the release of Vishwanath & SonsSuriya will be seen in Karuppudirected by RJ Balaji. The fantasy action film reportedly follows a lawyer who becomes possessed by a deity and begins fighting injustice. Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead, with Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, and Anagha Maya Ravi also part of the ensemble. An official release date for the film is yet to be announced.
Looking further ahead, the actor has also begun work on another project tentatively titled Suriya 47. Directed by Jithu Madhavan, known for Aavesham, the film is said to be a cop action-comedy. Reports suggest Suriya will play an eccentric and carefree police officer, with the story revolving around a light-hearted team of cops who are suddenly tasked with solving a serious case. The project also stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh as the female lead and Naslen in a key role. Composer Sushin Shyam is expected to make his Tamil cinema debut with the film.
