The Tejas Train, operated by IRCTC, strongly focuses on the comfort of passengers. It is hailed as the Shatabdi train’s premium version and when it comes to amenities, it is reportedly better than both the Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains. The Tejas Express reaches its destinations quickly which is very convenient for passengers. The train is filled with various amenities, from exceptional food to comfortable seating.
Is the Tejas Train faster than Rajdhani and Shatabdi?
The maximum speed of the Tejas Train is 200 km per hour but the maximum speed at which it is allowed to operate is 130 km per hour due to track and safety constraints. Compared to that, trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto have a maximum speed of 150 to 160 km per hour with an operational speed between 130 to 140 km per hour.
Tejas Train and its amenities like airplanes
According to reports, the amenities in the Tejas Train are just like the one we get in airplanes. There are attendants in uniform in the Tejas Train who look after the comfort of the passengers, much like an air-hostess in a plane. Passengers boarding the train are greeted and it has a superb dining service.
The coaches have LED lights which are energy-efficient and display boards which digitally show the destination. The seats on the train are very comfortable in terms of height. The coaches have bio-vacuum toilets, tap sensors, water level indicators, hand dryers, LED TV for each passenger with phone sockets, integrated braille displays, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, WiFi, vending machines for tea and coffee, snack tables, magazines, CCTV cameras, suppression system and fire and smoke detection. There are soap dispensers, odour-control systems and touch-less water taps in the toilets and the doors automatic and they only open at the stations where the train stops.
