Is The Cleaning Lady season 5 happening? Everything we know so far
The Cleaning Lady Season 5 has been cancelled by Fox after Four Seasons had aired, which was announced on June 6, 2025, following the season finale on June 3, 2025, making the season finale the series finale to date.
Crime Dramas on Fox associated with the show had starred Élodie Yung as “Thony De La Rosa,” a former surgeon from Cambodia/Philippines turned into a cleaning lady and became associated with criminal activity to find the means to supply medical assistance to her son. The Cleaning Lady began in January 2022 as part of FOX’s programming lineup, completing its four-season run with 12 episodes for season 4; however, when actor Adan Canto died in January 2024, a large portion of production efforts from Seasons 3 and 4 were reconsidered during future planning, which affected the production efforts of season 4.
Though only 12 episodes were released during Season 4 (ranked among Fox’s lowest script shows), these low ratings contributed to renewed efforts to continue production on similar shows on Fox. The network has and will not continue to submit this program to other broadcast companies or streaming services, and there are no discussions underway concerning the future of the program (e.g., Netflix) after multiple fan petitions to purchase the program.
Other developments concerning the series may soon arise because all four seasons continued to grow in popularity throughout 2026 on Netflix worldwide, and introduced the show to a completely new audience. It is unclear whether this resurgence of popularity will result in the renewal of the program. In addition, many “teaser trailers” for Season 5 have been uploaded by several users to YouTube (e.g., John Doe’s YouTube teases Season 5).
The show leaves some story threads open, but ends Thony’s core journey. No official plans exist for spin-offs or continuations. Fans can stream the full series on Hulu, Max, or Netflix, where available.
The series finale wraps up Thony’s primary arc, with certain plotlines being left open-ended; therefore, no official spin-off series or continuations are being developed. All seasons of the series are available for streaming on Hulu, Max, and Netflix, depending on your location.
