Is there only 6 days of oil left in India? Government’s big statement on petrol-diesel and LPG, know what ‘backup’ is? Plan

Amidst the ongoing tension in the Middle East for the last 27 days, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has said that the situation of petroleum and LPG supply in India is completely safe and under control. There is ample supply at all retail fuel outlets. There is no shortage of petrol, diesel or LPG anywhere in the country. The Ministry has appealed to the citizens of the country not to be misled by the misleading information, which is being spread unnecessarily to create panic.

Despite the current situation of the Strait of Hormuz, India is today receiving more crude oil from its more than 41 suppliers across the world than previously coming through the straits. Indian oil companies have already decided the supply of crude oil for the next 60 days.

Only 6 days stock in the country!

In the information given by the Ministry, it has been said that through some articles and social media videos, wrong information is being spread that there is only 6 days of stock in the country. India has a total reserve capacity of 74 days and the actual stock cover is currently around 60 days (which includes crude stocks, product stocks and dedicated strategic storage in caves) while we are on day 27 of the Middle East crisis. No matter what happens around the world, there is about two months’ regular supply available to every Indian citizen.

‘2 months of crude purchase secured’

The ministry further said that crude procurement for the next 2 months has also been secured. India is completely secure for the next several months and in such a supply situation, quantity becomes a secondary matter in strategic cave storage. Therefore, any suggestion that India’s reserves are exhausted or not sufficient must be rejected with the contempt it deserves.

Domestic production increased by 40 percent

After the LPG control order issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, domestic refinery production This has been increased by 40%, taking the daily LPG output to 50 TMT (more than 60% of our requirement), while the total daily requirement is around 80 TMT. Therefore, the daily net import requirement has come down to only 30 TMT.

India is buying fuel from these countries

This means that India is now producing more than its import requirement. Apart from domestic production, 800 TMT of confirmed inbound LPG cargo has already arrived from the US, Russia, Australia and other countries through India’s 22 LPG import terminals, double the 11 terminals in 2014.
