Is This Thing On? Hulu, Disney+ Release Date Set for Bradley Cooper Movie

Searchlight Pictures has announced the streaming release date for Is This Thing On?the latest comedy-drama that takes place against the backdrop of New York’s stand-up comedy scene. This marks Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper‘s latest directorial effort, 2023’s Maestro.

“As their marriage quietly unravels, Alex faces middle age and an impending divorce, seeking new purpose in the New York comedy scene, while Tess confronts the sacrifices she made for their family – forcing them to navigate co-parenting, identity, and whether love can take a new form,” reads the official synopsis,” reads the official synopsis.

Is This Thing On is officially scheduled to start streaming on March 20, exclusively on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ (for bundle subscribers in the U.S.). Since its theatrical run last December, the movie has garnered a Certified Fresh score of 87% on Rotten Tomatoesbased on 200 reviews. The ensemble cast includes Will Arnett, Laura Dern, Cooper, Andra Day, Christine Ebersole, Ciarán Hinds, Amy Sedaris, Sean Hayes, and Scott Icenogle.

Cooper directed the movie from a screenplay co-written by Arnett, Cooper, and Mark Chappell, based on a story by Arnett, Chappell, and John Bishop, whose life inspired the character of Alex. In preparation for the role, Arnett wrote and performed stand-up bits in comedy clubs every night for six weeks. Cooper, Arnett, Weston Middleton, and Kris Thykier served as producers. The creative team consisted of cinematographer Matthew Libatique, editor Charlie Greene, production designer Kevin Thompson, and composer James Newberry.
