Is your washing machine aging quickly? Check if you too are making these 1 mistakes

News India Live, Digital Desk: When we all bring home a new washing machine after spending thousands of rupees from the market, the thought that comes to our mind is, “Well, now we have free time for 5-10 years.” But this does not happen often. Within a few years, or sometimes months, the machine starts making strange noises, demands repairs and we start cursing the brand. But have you ever thought that the fault may not lie in the machine, but in the way we keep it (installation)? Technology experts believe that the biggest reason for the machine getting damaged quickly is not electricity or water, but ‘imbalance’. The mistake which we often ignore. Just pay attention, when the ‘Spin’ mode runs in your washing machine and the clothes are drying, does your machine make a very loud noise? Or does it slip from its place and move back and forth a little? We jokingly call it “the machine dancing”, but actually, it is the sound of the machine crying. This happens when we place the machine on an uneven surface. In many Indian homes we keep the machine in the bathroom or balcony where the floor has a slope to drain water. This slope is the biggest enemy of the machine. How does your machine get ruined? The drum of the washing machine rotates very fast. If the ground is even slightly uneven on one side, the four legs of the machine do not rest tightly on the ground. Vibration: Due to loss of balance, the machine trembles uncontrollably. Breakage of the drum: Due to continuous shaking, the inner drum hits the edges, due to which the ‘suspension’ and ‘bearings’ of the machine break prematurely. Pressure on the motor: When the machine is tilted on one side, double the force has to be applied to rotate the motor. You don’t need to call a mechanic, you can do it yourself. Check the surface: First of all, check whether the machine is on solid ground or not. Use of a stand: If the floor is crooked, then use an ‘Adjustable Stand’ available in the market. Avoid installing pieces of brick or wood, as they may dislodge due to shaking of the machine. Adjust feet: These days, every machine comes with ‘screw feet’ on the bottom. By rotating them you can set the height of the machine so that it is even all around. Try pressing: Apply gentle pressure with both hands on the top of the machine. If she is moving even a little, then understand that there is work left to do. Adjust it until it is as stable as a stone. A little awareness can save you thousands of rupees from your pocket. So next time before running the machine, check the ‘setting’ of its legs once!
