Is your whole day getting spoiled due to constipation? So take up yoga and keep your stomach happy.

News India Live, Digital Desk: We all know how the whole day goes when the stomach is not cleaned properly in the morning. Irritability, heaviness, headache and lack of interest in doing any work are all side effects of constipation. Nowadays our lifestyle, running around and eating outside has become the biggest enemy of our stomach.

We often resort to churan or medicines to deal with constipation. These provide relief for some time, but the real problem remains the same. What if we tell you that you can get rid of this problem forever, without any medicine, just by stretching your body a little?

Yes, yoga has so much power that it can improve your stubborn digestive system. Come, let us tell you some such easy yoga asanas which can become your stomach’s best friend.

1. Pawanmuktasana
Its name itself tells what it does. This asana expels the extra gas trapped in the stomach and reduces heaviness.

  • How to do: Just lie down on your back. Bend your legs and pull your knees towards your chest. Hold the knees tightly with your hands and remain like this for a while. This massages your intestines and makes the stool move easily.

2. Malasana
If you notice, in ancient times people used to use Indian toilet, which is actually a yoga asana. It is also called ‘squat’.

  • Why is it effective: This is the natural position of the body in which the stomach starts clearing itself while sitting. If you drink water every morning and sit in Malasana for 5 minutes, your constipation problem will go away within a few days.

3. Vajrasana
This is the only asana which you can do immediately after eating food, in fact you should do it.

  • Benefit: After eating, if you bend your knees and sit on your heels (in Vajrasana) for 10 minutes, then the blood flow towards the stomach increases and the food gets digested quickly. It is a panacea for gas and acidity.

4. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
This is best for stretching the abdominal muscles. When you pull your body back by raising your hood like a snake, there is pressure on the abdominal organs. This speeds up the sluggish digestion process.

small but important thing
Yoga works magic, but it takes some time. Along with these asanas, drink plenty of water and eat fiber-rich food (like fruits, salads) throughout the day. Your health is in your hands, all it takes is a small start.
