Isabella Thoburn College Baccalaureate Award Ceremony 2025-26 held
Lucknow. Capital Lucknow’s Isabella Thoburn College Baccalaureate Awards Ceremony -2025-26 With a rich history of academic excellence, Isabella Thoburn College, Asia’s first Center for Women’s Studies, has been a beacon of knowledge in the city of Lucknow. As a premier women’s institution, the college has produced many girl students to become successful and empowered in various positions. The Baccalaureate Awards Ceremony is a proud tradition of the College celebrating the academic excellence and outstanding achievements of its students.
This function was celebrated enthusiastically in the college on Friday, April 10, 2026 under the patronage of the college president, Dr. E.S. Charles. The chief guest of the occasion was Reverend Bishop Dr. C. Selvin who graced the event along with his wife Mrs. L. Selvin. In his address, Reverend Bishop Selvin said that the process of learning is life long and college along with educating you teaches you the art of living harmony, responsibility and morality in life, today’s era is of technological development.
But development of character is most important, while giving good wishes he said that you all should progress by developing your abilities. The program started with a call to prayer by Principal Dr. (Major) Neeraja Masih. The service included scripture reading, prayers and hymns. The lamp symbolizing the light of knowledge was lit by Reverend Bishop C Selwyn, L Selwyn, Acting Principal Dr Major Neerja Masih, Professor Seema Joshi, Professor Vineeta Vijay, and Dr Paul Mathew.
Professor Seema Joshi, (Department of Chemistry), Professor Vineeta Vijay (Department of Mathematics) and Dr. Paul Mathew, (Department of Education), faculty members who are retiring from this academic session, were honored for their rich contribution to the college. Subsequently, appreciation certificates, awards and medals were presented to the meritorious students for academic and cultural achievements: Isabella Thoburn Scholarship-Mehak Alter, BA 3 Mary E. PCM – Kanishka Singh – (B.Sc. 3rd year) Highest marks in B.Sc. ZBC – Ambreen Khan – (B.Sc. 3rd year) Kritika Rana – (B.Com. 3rd year) Highest scorer in B.Com – Bhumika Verma – (B.H.Sc. 3rd year) Post Graduate students Javeria Najam and Vaishali Verma, Tashu, Saima Siddiqui and Ananya Srivastava – Highest marks scorer in M.A. English, Economics, Geography and Sociology respectively. Megha Kumari, Aqsa Khan, Uzma Bano, Afrin Khan and Sara Fatima were honored for scoring the highest marks in M.Sc. Biotechnology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Zoology and B.Lib.Sc. respectively. The program ended with a vote of thanks by the college acting principal, Dr. Major Neerja Masih.
