Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Fifties Powers SRH to 5-Wicket Win Against Rajasthan Royals
A solid knock from Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan has set up Sunrisers Hyderabad to post a 5-wicket victory in the IPL 2026 game against Rajasthan Royals at Jaipur.
Their fifties have guided the side towards a comfortable win in Saturday’s clash. With this win, they moved to the third position in the IPL 2026 points table.
After being invited to bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi opened the innings while Praful Hinge opened the bowling attack. The 15-year-old made four back-to-back sixes as the side posted 25 runs in the first over.
Eshan Malinga brought the first breakthrough, dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal for 10 runs. He was dismissed on a length delivery that bounced, striking in the mid-off area where Klaasen took the catch.
With Dhruv Jurel joining Vaibhav Suryavanshi at crease, Rajasthan Royals went on to score 76 runs in the powerplay. In the mean time, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 15-ball fifty troubling SRH bowlers.
In the 9th over, the side went on to cross 100 run mark aiming to post a big total in their innings.
The duo made a 112-run partnership for the second wicket where Dhruv Jurel made his fifty off 34 deliveries. Nitish Reddy bagged the wicket of Dhruv Jurel where the ball gone to Aniket Verma in cover.
On the other hand, Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed his 100 in 36 deliveries which included 5 fours and 12 sixes. However, he got dismissed on a lbw from a Sakib Hussain’s delivery.
With Pat Cummins bowled out Riyan Parag for 7 runs, Eshan Malinga picked the wicket of Donovan Ferreira for 33 runs. With his dismissal, Rajasthan Royals lost 5 wickets for 214 runs. Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer got dismissed on a full toss delivery from Praful Hinge for 11 runs.
With Ravindra Jadeja and Jofra Archer on crease, Rajasthan Royals went on to score 228 runs in the powerplay.
Eshan Malinga picked two wickets while, Praful Hinge, Pat Cummins, Sakib Hussain and Nitish Reddy bagged one wicket each.

Chasing 229 runs, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the innings while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack. Archer bagged the wicket of Head for 6 runs.
Ishan Kishan who joined Abhishek Sharma at crease, has troubled the Royals bowlers as the duo powered SRH total to 89 runs in the powerplay.
In the 7th over, they went on to cross the 100-run mark steadily aiming to complete the chase. Abhishek Sharma went on to slam his fifty in 24 deliveries and continued his slaughter. Following him, Ishan Kishan also brought his fifty as the duo command the chase.
However, Donovan Ferreira bagged the wicket of Abhishek Sharma for 57 runs, while Jofra Archer bagged the wicket of Ishan Kishan for 74 runs. His knock came from 30 deliveries which included 11 fours and 3 sixes.
With Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy in crease, the side crossed 200 run mark. With only less than 15 runs to win, Brijesh Sharma dismissed Nitish Reddy on a lbw for 36 runs.
He also bagged the wicket of Heinrich Klaasen for 29 runs. With Salil Arora and Aniker Verma at crease, SRH sealed their 5-wicket victory against Rajasthan Royals.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their next match against Mumbai Indians on April 29 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
