How has been the journey between India and England so far?
- The team made a comeback after a big defeat in the first match of Super-8 against South Africa. The biggest turning point came when Sanju Samson got a chance again.
- 31-year-old Samson raised India’s hopes by scoring unbeaten 97 runs in a ‘do or die’ match against West Indies. His performance gave new life to the campaign.
- However, opener Abhishek Sharma is still looking for his attacking rhythm, even though he scored a half-century against Zimbabwe in the Super-8.
- England, on the other hand, is full of confidence with five consecutive wins. Jofra Archer’s speed, Adil Rashid’s spin and Harry Brook’s batting will be a challenge for India. Jos Buttler’s form is definitely in the news.
- From India, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Tilak Varma have practiced for a long time in the nets. Spin pair Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy are also expected to play a bigger role, especially if the pitch remains slow.
Now everyone’s eyes are on whether India will be able to play better under pressure this time or whether England’s winning streak will continue.
