Ishan Kishan jumped 17 places in ICC rankings, became the number 8 batsman in T20, know the condition of Abhishek-Surya-Tilak?
New Delhi. Ishan Kishan has made a strong comeback and has jumped 17 places in the latest ICC T20 International Rankings. With this, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has now become the world number-8 T20 batsman. The benefit of his aggressive batting and consistent run scoring in recent matches was directly reflected in the rankings.

In the latest ICC rankings, four Indian batsmen are included in the overall top-10, which shows the strong T20 batting line-up of Team India. The dominance of Indian players is clearly visible in the latest ICC T20 batsman rankings on Wednesday 18 February. Young opener Abhishek Sharma, who is struggling with poor form, remains the world’s number-1 batsman with 891 rating points. England’s Phil Salt is in second place with 808 points, while Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka, who scored his first century in the T20 World Cup, has jumped three places to reach third place.
India’s Tilak Varma has moved up one place to fourth position. Sahibzada Farhan of Pakistan is at fifth position.
T20 star batsman and Indian team captain Suryakumar Yadav remains at sixth position, which means there is no change in his ranking. England’s Jos Buttler is in seventh place. Ishan Kishan has got the biggest benefit. He made a huge jump of 17 places and has now reached number eight. New Zealand’s Tim Seifert has slipped to ninth place, while Australia’s Travis Head is at tenth place.

Why was there a jump in Ishan Kishan’s ranking?
Ishan Kishan has given a strong performance for India by scoring 158 runs in the three matches played so far in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2025/26. He batted at an average of 52.66 and an explosive strike rate of 197.50, scoring two half-centuries, with 77 being his highest score. So far, Ishaan has given a fast start to the top order by hitting 17 fours and 10 sixes in just 80 balls and has kept the run rate consistently high.
Sam Ayub became number 1 all-rounder
Pakistan’s Sam Ayub has once again become the world’s number-1 all-rounder in the latest ICC T20I rankings. He regained this position on the basis of his excellent performance. For some time, there was a fierce competition going on between Ub and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza to become the number-1 all-rounder. Both the players took turns in the top position before the T20 World Cup.
Ayub performed brilliantly against India in Colombo by taking three wickets. Due to this performance, he again achieved the number-1 position, leaving Raza behind. Raza has now slipped to second place. Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee has moved up two places, while Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai has jumped four places to joint fourth place. South Africa’s Ryan Rickelton has jumped 22 places to number 11. His teammate Aiden Markram moved up six places to joint 15th position.

What happened to Rashid and Bumrah’s ranking?
In the list of bowlers, Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has moved up one place to second position and is giving competition to India’s Varun Chakravarthy, who is currently at the top. India’s Akshar Patel moved up four places to 14th and Jasprit Bumrah moved up six places to 15th.
