Ishan Kishan taunts Australia batters from behind the stumps, video goes viral
After getting denied of a central contract from BCCI earlier this year, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan left the Indian team midway from a Tour of South Africa due to personal reasons. However, the 26-year-old seems to be on a comeback trail as after slamming tons in 3 domestic tournaments, Kishan was given the chance of featuring for the India A team in their tour of Australia. If he continues to give such brilliant performances, then he might soon get recalled to the national team as well.
With him behind the stumps, Kishan was back to his chirpy best. In a video which is making rounds on social media, Kishan was seen giving instruction to left-arm spinner Manav Suthar from behind the stumps with Australia’s Marcus Harris batting.
Kishan last featured for the Men in Blue last year during their tour of South Africa. He ended up leaving midway and then also took a personal break which didn’t sit well with the BCCI. After the player decided to skip the domestic competitions in the run-up to the IPL, the BCCI dropped him from the central contract.
The Australia A side is on the verge of victory against India A in the first unofficial Test which is being held at the Great Barrier Reef Arena. India A collapsed for 312 in their second innings. Sai Sudharsan was the star performer in the team, scoring his first-class century which left Australia A with a target of 225 runs.
Kishan’s knock of 32 from 58 deliveries was the only standout performance in the lower order after Sudharsan left at 103. Australia reached 139/3 at the end of play on day 3 thanks to a solid batting display from skipper Nathan McSweeney and will need 86 more runs to secure victory on the fourth day.
