ISI-Linked Terror Module Busted in Delhi: Two Arrested for Grenade Attack Plot
Delhi Police’s Special Cell arrested two operatives linked to Pakistan’s ISI-backed network for plotting grenade attacks and targeted killings across Delhi-NCR.
The suspects, Rajveer (21) and Vivek Banjara (19) from Gwalior, were apprehended with weapons and incriminating evidence.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Special Cell traced Banjara to Gwalior and arrested him on April 16. His interrogation led to the capture of Rajveer from Sarai Kale Khan on April 18. Police recovered a pistol, six live cartridges, and mobile phones containing radical videos and voice messages.
Investigators revealed that Rajveer was radicalised through social media by ‘Rana Bhai,’ an associate of ISI proxy Shahzad Bhatti. Rajveer later recruited Banjara into the network. In March, Bhatti instructed them to collect weapons from Ahmedabad, but the delivery failed. On April 9, they travelled to Amritsar and received a pistol, cartridges, and Rs 20,000 for an attack on a club in Zirakpur. The attempt failed due to a weapon malfunction.
Rajveer later obtained another pistol in Faridkot and returned to Delhi with plans to target a prominent hotel. The Special Cell arrested him before the attack could occur.
This operation follows another major bust last week, where police dismantled an ISI-backed espionage and arms module linked to Babbar Khalsa International. Eleven suspects were arrested, preventing potential grenade attacks on security establishments.
