‘Islam does not allow violence’, Chishti of Ajmer Dargah angry over attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh!
Ajmer: There is a strong reaction in India also on the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. Now Syed Naseeruddin Chishti, Chairman of All India Sufi Sajjadanshin Council and successor of the Diwan of Ajmer Sharif Dargah, has given a big statement on this issue. He clearly said that there is no place for violence in any society or religion. Instead of progress, it leads the society towards darkness.
Violence against humanity and civilization
Syed Naseeruddin Chishti has expressed deep concern over the news coming from Bangladesh. He said that the kind of news that is coming out through the media is heart-wrenching. Attacks and killings of innocent people cannot be accepted at any cost. Chishti stressed that such incidents are not only against humanity but also tarnish the image of a civilized society.
Islam gives the message of humanity and justice
Showing the mirror to the government there, Chishti said that Bangladesh considers itself an Islamic country. He appealed that if Islam is considered a guiding light there, then its teachings should also be implemented. He reminded that Islam gives the message of peace, humanity and justice. Violence against any religion or community is completely contrary to the teachings of Islam.
Government’s responsibility to protect minorities
Naseeruddin Chishti bluntly said that it is absolutely wrong to persecute the minority community because of their small numbers. He said that it is the first and fundamental responsibility of the government of any country to ensure the safety of every citizen. No matter what religion he belongs to, he should get equal rights and protection.
Conspiracy against India and threat to brotherhood
Expressing a big apprehension, Chishti said that it seems as if an attempt is being made to use Bangladesh against India as part of a well-planned conspiracy. He warned that this action could prove extremely fatal for the peace, stability and age-old brotherhood of the entire region. He demanded the Bangladesh government to take strict control of the situation and prevent violence from escalating further so that justice and humanity can be maintained.
It is noteworthy that Syed Naseeruddin Chishti has often expressed his opinion on PM Narendra Modi’s decisions and social issues. His strong statement has come after the recent murder of two Hindus in Bangladesh, which has attracted the attention of the whole world.
