Khamenei’s assassination and Israel’s warning
However, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Shaniva has been killed in Israeli attacks. Israel has said that it will continue attacking the Islamic Republic. Israel, which has always been against Iran’s nuclear program, also released a video showing precision strikes on Khamenei’s compound in Tehran, and named its mission Operation Roaring Lion.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel’s operation will continue as long as needed. In his speech on Saturday, he emphasized that the Iranian regime has demanded ‘the death of Israel and the death of America’ over the past 47 years. Netanyahu said that the people of the Middle East are afraid because of Iran and that Tehran has deployed armed proxies against Israel in Gaza, Syria and other countries.
He said, ‘It trampled its own citizens, it created fear among the people of the region, it spread a huge network of terror throughout the world, it devoted enormous resources to making atom bombs and thousands of missiles, the purpose of which, as it said, was to erase Israel from the world map.’
Trump’s warning to Iran, Gulf countries appealed for peace
Like Netanyahu, US President Donald Trump has also warned Iran against any wrongdoing that could worsen the situation. At the same time, many Gulf countries like Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain have also appealed for peace in the area. He has appealed to Iran to stop the situation from worsening. However, Iran has said that it will continue to target US bases in the area.
