Israel-Hezbollah reached agreement on ceasefire due to efforts of America-Qatar

New Delhi: Big news has come out from the Middle East. The intensified fighting between Israel and Hezbollah is about to stop. Both sides have agreed to ceasefire from 4 pm on Friday. A senior American official has given this information to Reuters.

According to the official, mediators from America and Qatar have prepared this agreement with the help of Iran. Only after this Israel and Hezbollah agreed to stop the firing.

There were fierce clashes throughout the night

Fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah suddenly intensified in Lebanon on Thursday night. At least 18 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike, while 4 Israeli soldiers were killed in a Hezbollah attack in south Lebanon. Officials say these attacks were the most dangerous in recent times.

In this background, America and Qatar intensified talks and included Iran also in it. A Hezbollah MP had said that Iran had made it clear that talks with Washington could not proceed until there was a complete ceasefire.

Trump put pressure on Netanyahu

Donald Trump called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and directly asked him to stop the attacks. Trump believed that Israel’s action had become more stringent than necessary. He said that if a member of Hezbollah is in a building then it is not right to demolish the entire building.

According to reports, Trump was very angry over this and reminded Netanyahu in strong words that without America’s support, Israel’s situation would have been different. A US official told Axios that Netanyahu has fully agreed to extend the ceasefire in Lebanon, although Netanyahu’s office has not yet officially confirmed.

Pressure increased on Iran deal

After the increase in violence in Lebanon, pressure on the interim agreement between America and Iran on Wednesday had also increased. The purpose of that agreement was to stop the major war going on in the Middle East.

Under the deal, America, Iran and their allies have to declare that military action should be immediately stopped on all fronts including Lebanon.

The violence had subsided somewhat earlier this week, but had increased again. Now after the ceasefire has been agreed, it is expected that the situation in the area will start becoming normal.
