Israel–Hezbollah War : The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, which has been going on for more than a year, came into effect on Wednesday. Both sides accepted the agreement brokered by the US and France. It is a rare victory for diplomacy in a region plagued by devastating conflicts between the two countries. Displaced Lebanese people were seen returning to the southern part of the country in cars with personal belongings, despite Israeli forces warning them to stay away from the area as long as Israeli forces are present.
According to reports, the Lebanese army has asked displaced people to stay away from towns and villages that are on the front line near the “blue line” drawn by the United Nations.
“The army has begun to strengthen its deployment in the South Litani sector and expanded state authority in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL),” the Lebanese army said in a statement. “In this context, the relevant military units are moving from several areas to the South Litani sector, where they will be deployed in locations designated for them.”
