Israel strikes western Bekaa as air raids hit Yahmour and Qalyeh amid rising Lebanese conflict

New Israeli air raids have been reported in eastern Lebanon. According to early reports, two strikes targeted the outskirts of the towns of Yahmour and Qalyeh in the western Bekaa region.

The area lies east of the Lebanon near the Bekaa Valley, a region that has seen repeated military activity during the ongoing confrontation between Israel and the armed group Hezbollah.

Details about casualties or damage are not yet confirmed. Local reports suggest the strikes hit areas outside the towns rather than the town centers.

Israeli air raids in western Bekaa

The western Bekaa area has become increasingly sensitive in the current conflict. It sits between the Lebanese mountains and the Syrian border and is considered strategically important.

Israeli forces have repeatedly targeted locations across Lebanon that they say are linked to Hezbollah infrastructure or weapons movements.

Air strikes have intensified across the country in recent days. Israeli operations have hit multiple areas including Beirut’s southern suburbs and other regions believed to host Hezbollah positions.

The Bekaa Valley has also faced air strikes in previous escalations, showing how the conflict has spread beyond the southern border areas.

Israel Hezbollah conflict spreads across Lebanon

The latest strikes come during one of the most serious escalations between Israel and Hezbollah in years. Rocket attacks from Lebanon into northern Israel have triggered waves of Israeli retaliation.

In recent days, hundreds of rockets were launched toward Israeli territory, followed by heavy Israeli bombardment inside Lebanon.

The wider conflict has already displaced hundreds of thousands of people inside Lebanon and caused widespread destruction across several regions.

With air strikes now reaching areas deeper inside the Bekaa Valley, the fighting appears to be spreading beyond the traditional front lines near the border.

For now, the situation remains fluid. More information is expected as local authorities and regional media provide updates about the strikes near Yahmour and Qalyeh.
